Welcome to AA Serenity! AA Serenity is an official member of the AA On-line Intergroup. As such we serve a variety of women who, for whatever reason, find this method of attending AA meetings beneficial to their lifestyles. When sharing, either privately or on the group level, we treat each other with respect and honor each other's experience, strength and hope (ES&H). Flaming is not acceptable in our meeting, whether it be private or on the group level. Flaming is crossing the boundaries of common decency by name calling, taking someone's inventory, being insulting, argumentative, or berating someone because of their personal or spiritual beliefs.
CURRENT E-MAIL TOPIC MEETING FORMAT:
THURSDAY - Newcomer meetings: These meetings are aimed toward, and
beneficial to, the 'newly sober,' those struggling with sobriety, and
those who have "a few or several 24 hrs." and
can share their experience, strength, and hope. GENERAL INFORMATION WHEN POSTING TO THE GROUP: All group posts are sent to: aas@oso-aa.org IMPORTANT ! Be sure to type "On Topic" or "Off Topic" in your subject lines. “On Topic” shares are those corresponding with any of our meeting topics. Posts relating to Newcomers Meetings are to be preceded by NC in the subject line.Any shares not relating to the topics are labeled "Off Topic" on the subject line, followed by a brief description of the post's content. Examples of “Off Topic” shares are: daily readings, meditations, a need for ES&H (experience, strength, and hope), a need prayers, or for finding/locating a meeting in another city or country. When signing (concluding) any posts to the AA Serenity Main List, no links for websites, advertisements, or references to religion, businesses, or organizations are allowed. When posting privately to another member of the group, remove the AAS address if it is on the To: or CC: line. Private shares or correspondence are not to be sent at the group level. Please do not post to any other group or person when posting to AAS. There should be no other email address on the To: or CC: line when posting to AAS. Many of our members belong to more than one group; not only could the posts become confusing, there are also anonymity issues. Sending "chain-letters" is expressively forbidden by the internet carriers. AA Serenity & its subscribers use Plain Text only. HTML (using color, pictures, stationary, etc.) is not allowed in email (the digest version of our meetings does not 'read' HTML code). Messages sent using HTML arrives as a long list of letters, numbers, and other markings which makes it difficult, if not impossible, for members to read. Spiritual inspirations and readings relating to AA are encouraged, and are sent as ‘Off Topic.’ Please send jokes, recipes, and other similar items of interest, on a private level. The use of profanity is discouraged. There may be some members of our group who are more sensitive to its use. All new virus alerts/warnings will be sent to the main list AFTER they are reviewed and verified by the Virus Alert Coordinator. Information regarding viruses are not to be sent to the main list by an individual member. DIGEST VERSION or INDIVIDUAL EMAIL VERSION OF AA SERENITY: There is a digest version of AA Serenity available. The digest version is sent once and sometimes twice a day, with all of the day's posts condensed into one e-mail! To change your member settings to receive the digest version, or back to individual emails, send an email to the Group Listkeeper at: listkeep@oso-aa.org . Type “change subscription” in the subject line, and indicate your preference in the body of your e-mail. Also, include your email address in the body of your message to the Listkeeper. TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM AA SERENITY: To unsubscribe from AA Serenity, send an email to the Group Listkeeper at listkeep@oso-aa.org and in the subject line, type: unsubscribe. In the body of your post, include your email address. DO NOT send unsubscribe notices to the group’s main list. The AAS group email address is only for "On and Off Topic" posts. AA SERENITY'S BUSINESS LIST All members are encouraged to join our business list (via a separate email address). The list was created to keep business off of the main list in order for members to maintain their focus on sobriety and recovery. Business meetings start on the first Monday of the month and last for one week. All discussions, group conscience decisions, and voting are held on the Biz List. To subscribe to the Biz List, send an email to the AAS Chair or Secretary with your request to join. The only requirement for membership on the Biz List is that you remain a member of AA Serenity. If and when you decide to leave our group, you will be unsubscribed from the Biz List. A monthly meeting notice is sent to the main list before the first Monday of the month, along with a request for agenda items. Members must be subscribed to the Biz List in order to submit an item for the agenda. At the end of each business meeting the minutes of the meeting will be posted to the main list and also uploaded to the Biz List site. ![]() Click to join aaserenity-biz SERVICE POSITIONS All members are encouraged to volunteer for a service position. Open/vacant Trusted Servant positions are posted to the main list. As a requirement for service positions, Trusted Servants must subscribe to the Biz List. AA Serenity has a Trusted Servant’s List (via a separate email address) for the purpose of discussing Trusted Servant issues, so as not to interfere with the main list topic shares. Service work is very rewarding, and the best way to give back to the group what is so freely given to each of us. If you are interested in a service position, please contact the AAS Group Chair or the AAS Secretary. Most Trusted Servant positions suggest 3 – 6 months of continuous sobriety. There are other service positions that require at least one year of continuous sobriety.Whenever necessary, it is the responsibility of only our Gentle Reminder Trusted Servant to gently and lovingly explain to group members, privately, our Netiquette guidelines and By-Laws. WEBSITE AA Serenity has a website located at:
Once again, welcome to our wonderful group of sober women! We can assure you that we are doing the best we can to ensure that AA Serenity remains ONE of the safest (among many) women's AA on-line groups on the Internet. We have women from all over the entire world sharing all their ESH (experience, strength and hope) in this group and we support one another, as sisters, through all the bad times, as well as all the good times.
